Students
Standards & Code of Conduct
Standards governing the learning environment, student conduct, notices and complaints.
01Purpose
The purpose for the Standards of Student Conduct regulations is to:
a) maintain and protect the teaching and integrity of each class.
b) regulate the conduct of students within the learning environment and who are using the facilities and services or participating in activities or assessment sessions.
02Student Misconduct
If a student makes false representations on any matter in his or her capacity as a student or knowingly engages in conduct that involves a risk of physical or psychological injury to the teacher, another student or to any other person involved in the training serious misconduct may result in suspension or termination of training. Any financial adjustment will follow the training cancellation provisions and applicable law.
03Address for Notice
Notifications to a student for the purpose of highlighting these Regulations is sufficient if it is in writing and is emailed or posted by registered mail to the student's nominated email account or registered address.
A notice is deemed to have been received if sent by email, 24 hours after the time it was sent by the Essence of Healing or 48 hours if posted by registered mail.
04Complaints
Although a person submitting a complaint is not required to provide any personal information, we HIGHLY recommend that a student provides, at a minimum, an email address where they can be contacted.
This is especially important if there are followup questions or responses that may be important or necessary. If the complainant fails to provide any identifying or contact information, it may limit the Essence of Healing ability to look into or fully respond to a situation.
05Code of Student Conduct
We acknowledge that respect for the student and others is the foundation of irreproachable excellence. As such, we set out to cultivate an environment of mutual respect and responsibility. Whether we are students, or the teacher, we have a right to be in a safe environment, free of disturbance in all aspects of human relations.
As part of its mission for maintaining ethical integrity, the Essence of Healing established this Code of Student Conduct for the protection of all students.
This Code of Conduct serves to advise students of their responsibilities as members of any or all training classes.
It also serves to provide students with the opportunities to resolve disputes in a cooperative and non-adversarial manner; to facilitate informed participation in the conduct process; and to increase awareness of and respect for differences of culture, gender, religion, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability.
The Essence of Healing has an obligation to conduct its affairs in an orderly and efficient manner. Actions by individuals or groups that interfere with the orderly functions or threaten health or safety, will not be tolerated.
In advising the student of the conduct system, the rights and responsibilities of the individual are considered concurrently with rights and responsibilities. Unacceptable behaviour is defined and the consequences of such behaviour explained.
Training Courses
Enrolment, Payment & Cancellation
Training terms for enrolment, payment arrangements, attendance and withdrawal.
01Enrolment
Training is personalised, with teaching time and resources reserved for each student. Before enrolment, students will receive the course fee, deposit amount, payment schedule, duration, inclusions and assessment requirements. Enrolment is confirmed when Essence of Healing accepts the enrolment, receives the required deposit and obtains the student’s written acceptance of these terms. Any alternative arrangement must be confirmed in writing.
02Fees and payment plans
Students agree to pay the course fee according to their agreed payment schedule. A payment plan spreads the cost of the course and does not create a separate enrolment for each instalment. If a payment is overdue, Essence of Healing will provide written notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter. Training and access to resources may be suspended while an overdue amount remains unpaid. Certificates are issued only after assessment requirements have been satisfied and all amounts properly due have been paid.
03Deposits
The deposit forms part of the total course fee and contributes towards enrolment administration, course preparation and reserved teaching capacity. If a student cancels, the deposit may be applied towards reasonable cancellation costs and losses. It is included in the cancellation calculation and is not an additional penalty.
04Withdrawal before commencement
Withdrawal must be submitted in writing to essenceofhealing67@gmail.com. For withdrawal more than 30 days before commencement, payments will be refunded after deducting reasonable enrolment, preparation and cancellation costs. For withdrawal within 30 days of commencement, reasonable losses arising from reserved teaching time that cannot be reassigned may also be included.
Essence of Healing will take reasonable steps to reduce its loss. Costs saved and replacement bookings will be taken into account. Charges will not exceed the agreed course fee, and the same cost or loss will not be charged twice. A written calculation will be provided.
05Withdrawal after commencement
Withdrawal does not automatically cancel payment obligations. The amount payable will reflect training delivered, materials supplied, work undertaken and reasonable unavoidable losses caused by the withdrawal. Costs saved and replacement bookings will be taken into account. The student will receive a written calculation of any amount payable or refundable, and the remaining payment schedule will be adjusted accordingly.
06Attendance and rescheduling
Students are responsible for attending agreed sessions and completing the required practice and assessments. Rescheduling requests must be made as early as possible and are subject to availability. Any notice period or missed-session charge will be disclosed in the enrolment agreement before acceptance. If Elizabeth cancels a session, an alternative time will be offered. Where the session cannot be provided, an appropriate credit or refund will be arranged.
07Exceptional circumstances
Requests arising from serious illness or other exceptional circumstances will be considered individually. A pause, revised schedule or course credit may be agreed where practical. Any variation must be recorded in writing.
08Conduct and assessment
Students must treat others respectfully, maintain confidentiality and follow reasonable safety and ethical practice requirements. Serious misconduct may result in suspension or termination of training. A warning and opportunity to respond will be provided where practical, although immediate action may be necessary for safety. Any financial adjustment will follow the cancellation provisions and applicable law. Enrolment does not guarantee qualification; students must satisfy the stated assessment requirements.
09Course materials
Manuals, recordings and other resources are supplied for the enrolled student’s personal study and authorised practice. They must not be copied, shared, sold, published or used to deliver training without prior written permission, except where permitted by law. Recording sessions requires prior permission from Elizabeth and anyone else involved.
10Cancellation by Essence of Healing
If Essence of Healing cancels a course or cannot provide the agreed training, the student will be offered an appropriate alternative or a refund for the undelivered portion. A materially different course or arrangement requires the student’s agreement.
Retreats & Pilgrimages
Booking, Payment & Cancellation
Booking terms, payments, travel requirements and changes to pilgrimages and retreats.
01Booking
Before booking, participants will receive the event dates, price, deposit amount, payment deadlines, inclusions, exclusions and any event-specific conditions. A booking is confirmed when Essence of Healing accepts it, receives the required deposit and obtains the participant’s written acceptance of these terms. Special arrangements must be confirmed in writing.
02Deposits and payments
The deposit forms part of the total event price and contributes towards preparation, administration and commitments to accommodation providers, transport operators and other suppliers. Payments must be received by the dates stated in the booking agreement. Instalments do not create separate bookings.
If payment is overdue, Essence of Healing will provide written notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter. If payment remains outstanding, the booking may be cancelled and the cancellation provisions will apply.
03Participant cancellation
Cancellation must be submitted in writing to essenceofhealing67@gmail.com. The date the notice is received determines the applicable arrangements. Cancellation charges may include reasonable administration costs, services already provided, non-recoverable supplier commitments and other reasonable unavoidable losses arising from cancellation.
Charges may increase as departure approaches. Any event-specific cancellation schedule and relevant supplier conditions will be provided before the participant accepts the booking. Deposits and other payments will be applied towards these charges, with any remaining amount refunded. Where reasonable cancellation charges exceed payments received, the participant may be required to pay the difference, up to the total agreed booking price.
Essence of Healing will take reasonable steps to reduce its loss and seek available supplier refunds or credits. Recoveries, costs saved and replacement bookings will be taken into account. The same cost or loss will not be charged twice. A written calculation will be provided.
04Replacement participants
Transfers require written approval and are subject to suitability, availability and supplier conditions. The replacement participant must accept the booking terms and complete the required documentation. Reasonable transfer costs will be disclosed before confirmation.
05Travel insurance
For overseas pilgrimages, participants must obtain travel insurance appropriate to their itinerary, activities and circumstances. Cover should be arranged promptly after booking and include relevant medical expenses, emergency assistance, cancellation and travel disruption. Participants are responsible for checking exclusions and whether their circumstances are covered. Insurance does not replace obligations under the booking agreement.
06Passports, visas and independent arrangements
Participants are responsible for valid passports, visas and other travel documents, and for meeting entry and transit requirements. Flights and independently arranged services are their responsibility unless expressly included. Missed departures, refused entry or inability to travel do not automatically create a refund entitlement. Cancellation calculations remain subject to these terms and applicable law.
07Health and participation
Participants must consider whether the event is suitable for their health, mobility and support needs, seeking appropriate professional advice where necessary. Relevant accessibility or support requirements should be discussed before booking. Essence of Healing will explain practical limitations before accepting the booking.
Participation in spiritual activities is voluntary. Retreats and pilgrimages do not replace medical or mental health care, and particular personal or spiritual outcomes are not guaranteed.
08Conduct and early departure
Participants must treat others respectfully and follow reasonable safety instructions and lawful requirements. Serious misconduct or behaviour creating a substantial safety risk may result in removal from an activity or event. A warning and opportunity to resolve the issue will be provided where practical, although immediate action may be necessary for safety.
Any refund will be assessed according to services provided, recoverable amounts and applicable law. Additional personal travel or accommodation costs reasonably attributable to the participant’s conduct are their responsibility.
09Itinerary changes and disruption
Reasonable adjustments may be necessary because of weather, safety, transport disruption, venue availability or other circumstances beyond the organiser’s reasonable control. Where practical, an alternative of comparable value will be offered. Significant changes will be communicated promptly.
If a substantial change makes the event materially different from the agreed booking, participants will be advised of their available options and applicable refund rights.
10Cancellation by Essence of Healing
If Essence of Healing cancels an event, participants will be notified promptly and advised of alternative arrangements and refund entitlements. Postponements, transfers or credits require the participant’s agreement. Refunds will be handled according to applicable law and the circumstances of cancellation.
