Stepping Out Of Comfort Zone

Life’s journey is filled with countless lessons.

There is a rhythm and timing to the universe we must abide with if we wish to realise our purpose,

With that in mind stepping out of your comfort zone may be uncomfortable, even threatening to some, since there is a level of anxiety associated with the unknown.

We become so accustomed to the familiar, that to rock the boat, feels as though we are completely out of control.

In one of my favourite books; Conversations With God  we are reminded that : “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

I’ve always been challenged with this and as I contemplate the idea, I’m over to realising there are changes still requires within myself.

It is our response to life which is paramount to the level of personal growth weundertake.

Most of us thrive in the non threatening zones of comfort, unfortunately this does not test one’s character.

Our response to life’s uncertainties determines our level of inner growth, especially when life is against us.

“As you move outside of your comfort zone, what was once the unknown and frightening becomes your new normal.” — Robin S. Sharma

Familiarity keeps us safe and sadly oftentimes stationary.

Most of us are quite content to sail through life unaware of our full potential.

We’d rather not take risks in the case our decisions don’t turn out to be what we hoped for.

Subsequently, ourself-esteem takes a hit and we perceive ourselves as defeated.

Yet despite what we may think, defeat and self-esteem are not inextricably linked.

Stepping of our comfort requires us to extend our personal boundaries in order to create change.

Combining the experiences we’ve had into our lives is really important to our growth, since it is defined by our learning and inner self-worth, which becomes the focal point of pushing past our comfort levels.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them — that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” Lao Tzu

Be brave. Be Bold. Be you.
